I recently experienced a glitch with my DeFi wallet and decided to delete and reinstall the app. Unfortunately, I mistakenly thought I could just log back in using my email and password. This is not the case—you need your 12-word recovery phrase to regain access.

I nearly had a heart attack when I realized I couldn’t find my recovery phrase. Thankfully, after a few hours of searching, I managed to locate it and restore my access. This experience taught me a valuable lesson.

I hope this post helps someone avoid the same mistake. The worst feeling is knowing you have money in your wallet but can’t access it, and no one can assist you without the recovery phrase. Stay safe and always back up your recovery phrase!
