How SBF and the FTX crash has caused me to lose my job almost 2 years after the fact. Hodling and not staking has saved my ass.

I work for an application that does mobile data aggregation in the crypto space (I won’t say which one).

A while back, I won’t say how long, we were in talks with a company that was going to enable us to allow the userbase that we had to buy and sell crypto through our application. The company in question had invested money in FTX, lost it all, and then proceeded to restructure their company internally and withdraw from talks with the application I work for for a business deal. We did what we had to do to survive, and other employees were let go before me, much longer in advance, but it’s finally become my turn to hand in the badge.

I am not 100% jobless, I’m not desperate for cash, I personally did not lose money, and I am not here to ask for your sympathy. I am just here to point out how one man that was beyond dumb is having effects on people – even years after the fact.

I do have another job in bitcoin mining. I have debts, but I can use my crypto savings to deal with them, although I will be reluctant to part with them. Financially, I am above water. That’s what matters most.

To the guys who lost money at FTX, I definitely sympathize with you guys and hope you all swiftly get reimbursed.
